Out of 110 kids selected for the HSHB, I saw only one dietary restriction. Now that kids are nominated, please verify this with your nominees so I can communicate with our food service director and email them to me directly.
The percussion ensemble instrumentation/parts are set. Please get the parts out ASAP and insist that the kids watch the YouTube video of the performance.
All parts/assignments are set in the Google Drive. Be sure your kiddos get these ASAP so they can practice. The level of the literature seems to be a bit more challenging. I tried to distribute the percussion parts for the honors band as evenly as I could.
I have included a document with page numbers in the Marche Diabolique folder. Sorry it was difficult to read in the pdf’s.
I’ve heard of one issue with printing that, after multiple tries, finally worked. Let myself or Debe Mitchell know if you are struggling with the music printing – some files may not print completely with a certain web browser/process.
I shared my Google Drive folder with each of you that submitted names. Please let me know if you didn’t receive this.
I received just 2 names for clarinetists. If you have an honors-quality clarinet nominee, please send me this ASAP. We should have 2-3 oboes and I just got 4 more horns, so those sections are all set.
For clarification – all percussion nominees have been accepted and will either be in the HB with Marc or the Perc. Ens. with Mike Filkins (thank you, Mike!)
I’m going to move forward with having all percussion nominees participate in the HSHB either as a member of the band or as a member of a percussion ensemble. This may delay the part assignments because I don’t have all scores in front of me yet, so I won’t know how many to keep in the band.
Send me info on any honors-quality oboe nominees. 2-3 in the band would be fine.
I feel we can go with up to 8 more clarinets and 2-4 horns. Send me info on honors-quality nominees and their accolades. I think this would round out the instrumentation given the high number of flutes and alto saxes.
